I have a love for movies and music. I've always had an interest in the concept of characters losing themselves in a fight for good and ending up not knowing if their cause was what it once was. Breaking Bad is probably a good example. Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite movies. That has a lot to do with coming-of-age. I'm sure theres infinite books to relate that to. The bad guy in No Country for Old Men is pretty cool. I could possibly write my thesis about psychopaths or something, which makes me think of American Psycho, which is also a book and a movie. I also like war movies a lot. Psychological damage is a pretty fascinating subject. Might hit that up.
sharif made me think of interstellar and that movie is bonkers. alternate dimensions are good food for thought. that'd probably be super hard to write a whole paper on tho.

The morality in a fight is a good topic. The Departed tells a story of a cop goes under in a criminal organization while a thug infiltrates the police department at the same time. It's an intriguing story about who's fighting for the right cause and the change in characters' state of mind is also worth looking into.
ReplyDeletethe departed is one of my absolute favorite movies
DeleteI might suggest Fight Club, that is a good movie about psychopaths, or maybe silence of the lambs
ReplyDeleteor Nightcrawler, that's a good movie
Deletelove silence of the lambs and ive been meaning to watch nightcralwer for a hot minute now
DeleteI really like your interest of characters losing themselves in the fight. I suggest American Sniper which is a great movie in which the character's whole life has been a war and his experience in the war influences the inner conflict between his country and his family. I've also seen Dazed and Confused and I think it's also good for your focus.

ReplyDeleteYou should watch Dexter. He may not qualify as a psychopath but he falls somewhere on that spectrum.
